The Playhouse Company

presents

Jack the Ripper

Directed by Wendy Berry

This musical play is a reconstruction of incidents relating to the East End murders which took place in 1888, as performed by the inhabitants of Whitechapel.
Set partly in a Music Hall and partly in the surrounding East End streets, the play shifts between grim reality on the streets and fantasy in the Music Hall.
Although it is a play about infamous murders, it still manages to be funny, warm and exuberant with some really good ensemble numbers.
