THE CHERRY ORCHARD Following the success of our reading of The Cherry Orchard, to be produced in Spring 2009, we will be running a workshop exploring aspects of the play. The workshop will be on Tuesday, April 8th at 7.30pm at the Playhouse, led by Steve Evans, who will be directing the play for Deep End. One of the most noticeable aspects of the reading was how Chekhov's comic genius came through when the play was read out loud. Lines which seem ordinary on the page suddenly had the room awash with laughter. We will be aiming to build on that aspect of this brilliant play by introducing elements of physical comedy. It is open to anyone, whether or not you are intending to audition for a part. The workshop is participatory, but anyone who wants to just come and watch is equally welcome.
